Eastern Conference Finals Preview
Game one of the Western Conference Finals between LA and Denver was nothing short of a nail biter as the Lakers forced their way past a firing Nuggets squad. As for the Eastern Conference Finals, I don’t think game one will be as close. Cleveland has had so much time to rest and prepare for either Orlando or Boston that game one might just be a 20 point blowout. Lebron is anxious to get back out there and prove his dominance yet again and show everyone why the Cavs are the favorites to win it all. At any rate, the games still need to be played…so here is what Orlando needs to do in order to have any sort of hope to win this series. Read more
Western Conference Finals Preview
The Western Conference Finals begins tonight as the red-hot Denver Nuggest travel west to take on the somewhat uneasy Lakers. After LA took seven games to dispose of Houston, many experts are picking the Nuggets to pull off the upset this round. Personally, I think the Lakers’ flawless display of basketball at home versus Houston was good enough to show how much of a favorite they are. Here’s a breakdown of what we have to look forward to in this series and a couple matchups that are key to determining the winner. Read more
NBA Not To Be Outdone By NHL
Everyone was praising the NHL Playoffs for giving the fans what was needed. The round that just ended gave us all three great game sevens (okay, just two) to watch. To be perfectly honest, I lost touch a little bit with the NBA because I was so intrigued with the NHL. So, the Association decided to give it’s fans two game sevens of it’s own. All of a sudden we seem to be in a golden era of sports! Let me explain to you what I mean. Read more
Magic Falling Apart
After being up 2-1 in the series and giving up a 14 point lead last night to lose, the Orlando Magic find themselves behind the 8-ball. Now down 3-2, Orlando must scrape together some sort of confidence and game plan to stop the momentum the Celtics have built over the past two games. Today, Dwight Howard openly criticized his team, and his coach, for the lack of a solid game plan in game five. Howard actually has a good point. Read more
Mark Cuban vs. Mrs. Martin; Big Baby vs. A kid
Strange incidents in the NBA Playoffs are becoming the norm as of late, which is why it should come as no surprise that there have been occurrences where fans are involved in the game in a way they shouldn’t be. Of course, I’m referring to the verbal shot Mark Cuban took at a fan, Kenyon Martin’s mom, and the case of Glen Davis ‘bumping’ into a kid sitting courtside. What would happen if these foes sqauared off in a 12-round battle? Here are the matchups: Read more
NBA Playoffs Never Better
The NBA Playoffs this year have been quite astonishing on many levels. Long overtime games, clutch shooting, and flagrant fouls are just some of the notes. I can’t remember a time in sports where so much action took place in one sport over a relatively short period of time. Let’s examine some of the post-season drama. Read more
To suspend or not to suspend?

Referees are constantly critiqued in every sport, especially over the last couple seasons; it hasn’t been a particularaly good time to be an official. Calls are becoming more and more subjective, and it’s difficult to stay consistent from one game to the next. With the recent events stemming from the Wednesday night NBA playoff games, officiating as a whole has gotten a little bit of a boost. Read more
Cavs Will Not Win Out
It has been a great start to the playoffs for the top team in the East. It has been so great that people are now wondering if they are going to run the table. Yes, that is right. People think this team is going to win every game they play this playoff season. I guess it isn’t completely out of the question, but it seems way to easy to start this talk. In order to truly predict what we think the Cavs can do, it is important to put it all in perspective. The right perspective requires us to look at the competition so far. Read more
NBA All-Obnoxious Team

As the NBA Playoffs continue, many season awards will be handed out. We’ve already seen MVP and ROY winners named among others. Also, the naming of the All-NBA Teams are always a big deal. Just yesterday the All-Defensive Team was announced. So, in honor of these types of awards, I present to you my NBA All-Obnoxious Team. Check it out: Read more
The Nuggets Are For Real
The Denver Nuggets are quickly showing how they are a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference. For most of the season all we have heard about is how good the Lakers are, how deep the Lakers are, etc. Almost from day one the Lakers have been the favorite to win the NBA Championship. Well, it looks to me like we have a new front runner in the West, the Nuggets. Here’s the breakdown: Read more
The ABCs of Houston Success
The Houston Rockets have had a great season so far and are really proving themselves thus far in the playoffs. After completing the not too unexpected upset of Portland in the first round, the Rockets took it straigh to LA last night in the first game of the series. So, this leads me to present to you the ABCs of the Houston Rockets success this season. Read more
Boston is in Trouble

The Boston Celtics better come back down to Earth rather quickly after that improbable seven-game series against Chicago. Not only did they take way too long to beat a young, mediocre Bulls team, but they probably wore themselves out to a point where Orlando might just waltz out to a quick 2-0 (even 1-1 would be big) series lead before Rondo can even pick up a flagrant foul. I don’t think Boston has enough left in the tank, or a deep enough roster, to compete with the Magic. Here’s why: Read more
