Penguins Save NHL’s Dream
It was supposed to be a great matchup. The series was supposed to be the longest most intense series of the playoffs. Then, the Washington Capitals decided win both games at home, and the NHL front office started to feel their heart beating faster. Rumors were swirling about a sweep. The puck dropped on game 3 last night and the NHL got saved. The Penguins were able to pull out a hard fought game about nine minutes into the overtime session. Now, the fans have a series to watch. Ramblings: Ref Shoutout and Rockets Can Win
Sports, the cure for your Cinco de Mayo or Seis de Mayo hangover. (Seis de Mayo just doesn’t have that same ring to it, does it?) Oh well, to cheer you up here are some ramblings.
This one goes out to the officials, in every league. This past year or so we have seen some of the finest game-altering calls ever. We start with the “Incredible-Hoc” Ed Hochuli utterly blowing a call that ultimately decided the Chargers-Bronco’s game, then you move on to the hundreds of phantom calls that undoubtedly changed the NBA season and last night they officials capped it off with perhaps their best, or worst. The Detroit Red Wings were jobbed the other night. The Ref, Brad Watson, totally missed the call and disallowed a perfectly legal goal that would have sent a game which the Red Wings dominated from the second period on, into overtime. Watson was out of position and called the puck dead when it was clearly, CLEARLY not possessed by Jonas Hiller. Ovechkin-Crosby Highlighting, Caps Buying Tickets
Usually I don’t like all the hype surrounding the “superstars” in the league, but it is different for me and the NHL. Simply put, hockey needs this. Sure, there are other teams that may be better, but if you ask an average sports fan to name some hockey players that person will probably only name Ovechkin and Crosby. This matchup is what the NHL wanted and it is what the NHL needed

Maggie The Monkey, Power Plays, Claude Giroux Eager
The NHL needs more mascots like “Maggie The Monkey” to promote the playoffs. Why not? There are articles being written how TSN will address rumors about the monkey during tonight’s broadcast. Obviously, this monkey is of interest to fans so why not train some other animals to pick the games for VS? I say it’s a no risk move!
Great Fights, Crosby Sucks, Scary Laughs
It’s been said time and time again, but fights cannot be outlawed. They are so fun to watch, and they give the game such passion. Just listen to the crowd during this fight. Amazing enthusiasm! Why not get some rivalries going?
