On Our Minds

Scott Says:

  • Jay Cutler is making things awfully difficult in Denver.  My initial reaction was that I would also be a little irritated if I heard someone was trying to trade me.  Still, weeks later Cutler has decided to not let it go and continue to cry about it.  Welcome to professional sports Mr. Cutler.  I obviously haven’t been in that situation before so I’m not going to speak for him or any other athlete, but it seems to me that this is something you sign up for when you become a professional athlete.  The fact is that teams are always going to try to get better no matter what the cost.  It’s fine to recognize that you are frustrated that ownership does not have confidence in you, but it is another thing to turn the situation into a full blown fued between you and ownership.  That doesn’t improve your team or the reputation you have around the league, especially in your own clubhouse.
