- Selection Sunday is great, don’t get me wrong… Seth Davis, not so much. As I sat in frot of the television yesterday more nervous than ever as Wisconsin wasn’t being called, I increasingly wanted to throw my remote through the TV at Seth. What do I have against him you ask? Well, maybe it’s the fact that he insists on giving his opinion as fact. Most analysts will say something like “I like Clemson to be a possible sleeper, and they could get past Michigan and play Duke in the next round.” That is a normal comment. Seth decides to tell us what “is” going to happen with gems like “Syracuse will make it to the regional final and lose there” or “VCU will take down UCLA.” He doesn’t back it up with any reasoning; he just knows he’s right. He makes me think that we shouldn’t even bother playing if everything is so set in stone. Fortunately for us, the tournament is never set in stone, and he is most likely wrong about 80% of his picks just like the rest of us.
