On Our Mind
Dan says:
- If I were anyone in the athletic department at Memphis right now, I’d be putting in my two weeks notice. When such a high profile coach leaves, how are you supposed to recover? He will be taking with him all the recruits that had previously committed to Memphis, not to mention at least a few guys who are currently on the Tigers. It’s tough to be mad at the guy, though, since the Kentucky job is the most desirable position in all of basketball, especially in the years after a new coach just failed miserably. And, Calipari did make the Memphis program what it is today…and what it won’t be tomorrow. On a happier note, Conference USA just became a wide open race for next season. Maybe we’ll get to see UAB back in the NCAA Tourney!
Scott says:
- The Jay Cutler situation has gone from anti-climatic to completely awesome in the last 24 hours. Now, we get to speculate where this QB will end up! Oh, it will be fun to hear the rumors for the next few weeks telling us the “inside scoop” of who is talking about whom. Or maybe, just maybe, we will get bombarded with fake news stories and false information again. The huge media circus around the Cutler situation has blown it way out of proportion and has gotten me to think that I don’t even want my team to land him anymore. He is acting like a celebrity who thinks he is too good for the team. I’m not saying I am on the McDaniels side either; it is just that Cutler hasn’t returned management’s calls for 10 days? Really? Let’s try to act our age folks.
