Scott says:
The Brett Favre news yesterday leaves me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m happy someone actually made a statement recognizing what always appeared to me as bogus rumors. On the other hand, I am scared to think what could happen now. It was rather nice to have all the Favre rumors focused on one place. Now, even though he is “retired” we get to hear more rumors for the rest of the summer.
Dan says:
- The fabricated story about Favre going to the Vikings has just further proved that the media is full of shit…and that stories can come from anywhere. So, be sure to keep reading our site because you might just find the next big story here first!

- So, those two big stars in the NHL are pretty good eh? I don’t remember a time when there was so much hype surrounding two players and they delivered like that. Both players getting hat tricks? That’s insane! I’m just sorry that I couldn’t watch this game. Game 1 was exciting so I’m assuming this one was as well. The NHL has served us a real treat in the Eastern Conference Semi-finals.
Dan says:

- So far, my prediction for the Orlando/Boston series is looking good. Dwight Howard dominated the boards, and the Magic held off a late Celtics run to escape with game one. Look for a closer game next time, but Orlando could very well do the same thing they did last night.

It’s here! A whole new theme with a new focus on posting the most interesting links along with our so useful opinions. Enjoy!
Scott says:
- NBA playoffs in full force, and I have to be the one to say, really? We’re just starting the second round! I knew this was drawn out, but now without a true cheering interest it finally is hitting me how drawn out it really is. Let’s make sure everyone gets at least two full days rest after most of the players play less than 30 minutes of basketball.

Dan says:
- Tiger Woods is still struggling to get back. He was right there going into the final round and couldn’t win. I was rather disappointed because golf is just so boring without him making crazy shots and winning almost every tournament. Watching a bunch of no-name guys battle it out really means nothing to me…and I’m even one of those huge golf fans.

- The Mavs just ousted the Spurs in the first round?? What the hell is going on?? Well, I’ll tell you what, it’s starting to show that the Spurs may be on the decline. I know nobody wants to admit it, but they aren’t the same team they used to be. Sorry. The supporting cast is just not as good. Sure, injuries hurt this team, but there is more to it when you lose in the first round.
Dan says:
- Paul Pierce actually showed me that he is one of the most clutch players in the NBA. After last year, I wasn’t sure how much credit he deserved for the Celtics’ success. With his performance in the clutch last night, I have no more questions about his abilities. He has, without a doubt, the best fall away elbow jumper in the league. By my count, he hit five of them throughout the fourth quater and overtime, three in overtime alone. Without KG, and Ray Allen who had fouled out with seven minutes left, Pierce is going to have to step up like this again and again is Boston wants a shot at another title.

- It’s all over for the President’s cup trophy winner. Ouch. In other hockey news I’m extremely excited about this game seven tonight between Carolina and New Jersey. Oh yea, and the other game seven between the 12 year old girls. “Their coach wasn’t being nice!”
Dan says:
- The Hornets don’t even deserve to be in the playoffs right now. Losing by 58 at home is absolutely something that should never happen in a playoff game…or any other NBA game for that matter. If I’m the ownership/front office in New Orleans right now I’m seriously evaluating my coaching staff and roster to figure out who is getting the boot once this miserable playoff series comes to an end. Something has to change or else Chris Paul is going to flee the scene.

- The Jazz showed some life, Boston shuts some people up, and Dallas is shocking the world! Man, you gotta love the NBA Playoffs. So much great stuff happening!
Scott says:
- Well, the NHL playoffs have had some blowouts. A bunch of sweeps will lead to some rest for some great teams. Analysts, please begin the rest vs. rust debate right about…now!

Dan says:
- The Lions are in the process of working out a deal with Matt Stafford. I don’t think I like the decision, but I can’tsay I’m surprised. Let’s hope, for their sake, he turns out to be somewhere near as good as Matt Ryan. If not, the franchise will have wasted a perfectly good draft to get a franchise left tackle. Sure, taking a lineman would be boring, but to get caught up in a $40 million mistake is much worse than boring.
Scott says:
- The Lions are screwed.
On Our Minds: April 22, 2009
Dan says:
- I kind of feel bad for the Jazz. They would be the second best team in the West if it wasn’t for injuries. Instead they are probably going to be swept by the eventual champions in the first round. Oh well…better luck next year.
Scott says:
- The Pistons just struggle to score, defend, and try.
On Our Mind: April 21, 2009
Scott says:
- While Dan has handed over the Eastern Conference I wouldn’t do that quite yet. Same with the West. Denver is playing really well and you never know what could happen.
Dan says:
- Ray Allen single handedly kept the Celtics alive last night after hitting a fade-a-way three to win the game with two seconds left. I just want to say that I think Boston looks terrible on defense and is going down either this series or next. Congrats Cleveland on being the Eastern Conference champs…

- NBA is taking us by storm. Who would have thought we would see as many upsets as we have? Good for the Sixers and Bulls. I’m not necessarily rooting for those teams, but good for them to go on the road and steal home court advantage. Now, let’s all breathe and take a break. Each series gets two days off so we can all relax and gain some energy after watching an ENTIRE game.
Dan says:
- 40 games in 40 nights makes me happy.

- Hello Yankee Stadium. I would like to introduce you to the Cleveland Indians. Oh wait, you’ve seen them. Wow, the team was 2-7. That was so nice of you to let them destroy you on the day you’re entire franchise, fanbase, and ESPN has been waiting for. Nice work! At least you made me happy.
- You know you are a very talented writer/blogger when you can be such a blatent homer like Bill Simmons and still be so popular. I usually love his posts so I am guilty as well, but it is rare that a guy can be on the front page of ESPN as an obvious fan/homer.

- Watching 10 minutes of the Penguins/Flyers game last night got me ready for the playoff run. I realize that I cannot take my eyes off the screen when a game is on the TV. It is just non-stop action. Okay, off my soapbox. Sorry for continuing my push to get you all to realize how great the NHL playoffs are.
Dan says:
- In Arizona watching UW Club Tennis dominate!
